Creative Procrastination

I procrastinate, but really I like to call it getting creative. You see, there are jobs I really do not like doing. So I pretend to work on them by turning them into some totally uneeded design job. Right now, I'm supposed to be working on a shopping list. We're running low on not just groceries, but about every other consumable item in the house, including clothing. I thought I should probably make a big list of all the things we need so I can fit them into the budget in the next weeks. It seemed like a daunting job. If I just had a list of every consumable item in the house, I could just mark the things I need to restock. Of course, that gave me the grand idea of making such a master list. But rather than walk around the house with a pen and paper, I decided to make it as a checklist in Microsoft Word. But I can't just type text. It need a cover page listing different categories. And you know you can't have a boring cover page. It needs a splash of design.

Yeah, I'm weird. Now I should stop procrastinating and get back to my over creativafied project.

  1. Awesome. :) You should post a list of groceries/household items and I can point out the super good deals.

  2. I'm always looking for super good diaper and wipes deals. I use Huggies for Faith (works best at keeping in the liquid poo) and any brand for Ethan. I pretty much only use Huggies wipes. All the others seem to be either too slimy, too thin, or too rough. Although the new Pampers Thick wipes are alright.

I also jump on excellent cereal deals.

  3. I have made a list for each place I shop (I shop once a month) that has nearly every item I ever buy there. When it is time to prepare for a shopping trip, I walk around with my clipboard and highlight items needed. This works especially well for the grocery store and Sam's Club. For Walmart, I finally just made a list that has different sections of the store (i.e. clothing, fabric, cleaners, household) and write in what we need. I'd be happy to share if you're interested.
